TG Lenihan & Co Consulting Engineers, Kanturk, Co Cork are seeking an Experienced Design & Planning Consultant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a vast understanding of construction projects and how they flow from conceptual design and planning, through to detailed design and construction.

Responsibilities:

• Design for various project types including residential, commercial, retail, industrial and education. This will involve:

  • Planning Applications

  • Fire Safety Cert & Disability Access Cert Applications

  • Liaison with Building Control and operation of BCMS system

  • Preparing detailed design packages including drawing suites and specifications

  • Meeting with clients, local authorities & Irish Water

• Surveying and Setting Out

• Supervising projects throughout their construction stage, and being the company point of contact for contractor and client. Project supervision will involve preparing detailed visit reports and ensuring design compliance.

• Collaboration with wider design team.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• 5 to 7 years’ experience in a design office environment

• Will have a bachelor degree in Engineering, Architecture or Architectural Technology and be a professional member of IEI or RIAI.

• Professional title such as Chartered Engineer or Registered Architect would be advantageous. Candidate should be at least working toward professional accreditation.

• Excellent IT skills including the use of design software:

  • AutoCAD

  • Revit (Would be Advantageous)

  • Civil 3D (Would be Advantageous)

• In depth knowledge of all building regulations

• Must demonstrate efficient work methods and problem solving skills.

• High attention to detail.

• Excellent Interpersonal Skills.

• Full driver’s license.
